Since I work from home, I’m always looking for ways to make my life easier. I run a small side-business selling produce from my garden and greenhouse. Its a great way for me to make passive income and stay active at the same time.
When it comes to sourcing ingredients, I try to go local whenever I can. But I don’t always have the time to frequent Farmers’ Markets to see what’s available. Anything that makes it easier for me to shop for fresh produce is a huge plus in my book.
For me, buying local is just one more way we support our community. Knowing where my vegetables came from, and how they were grown, also makes me feel good about the food I serve at our table.
Small-scale craft growers know just how important it is to reach out to new potential buyers. We are increasingly going online, as have many other businesses, and are able to reach more people than we would have done otherwise. Using an app only makes sense given how many people are on their smartphones.
